Attention all young musicians and aspiring stars! Westport’s bustling streets are set to come alive with the sound of music for the Féile Mhaigh Eo busking competition for school-age children and young people.
Reserve your pitch in advance and be in the running to win one of two coveted half-day recording and mixing sessions at Clew Bay Recording Studio. Plus, there will be a slew of spot prizes up for grabs. We can’t wait to see you shine! Deadline for registration is midnight Sunday 28th April.

Amplified Youth is an open music showcase presented by The Core, Music Generation Mayo at Ballina Arts Centre and the stage is open to bands, groups, duos and solo performers (aged 12-18) of all genres of music.
We are calling for submissions of an audio/video recording of your act for consideration.

Fret Frenzy brings young musicians together to jam in an informal setting. The focus is on enjoyment so expect to see teenage rock in all its glory.

Our session blends educational insights with hands-on activities, offering valuable insights into the profound impact music can have on early childhood development. Join us as we explore the joy of music together.

The Big Day on the Mall

Proud to be part of Home to Mayo, The Big Day on the Mall is a festival day like no other. Join over 150 young musicians on the big stage in the Mall including:
Batafada – Music Generation Mayo Harp Ensemble – Mayo Youth Orchestra • Foxford Brass and Reed Band – CCÉ Admiral Brown – CCÉ Bofield – Rolling Waves – Youth Rock Bands – plus special guests from Mayo’s Twinned towns!

Then soak up the talent in the Open Mic Tent, including Mayo Children’s Chorus, or sign yourself up for a spot (school age only).  But wait, there’s more! A traditional Irish Music session tent, a Circus Skills Area, an environmental awareness tent with recycled instrument workshops plus stalls from the Music Generation Mayo / Mayo Library Service Instrument Bank and Count Me In.

For those who would like a break from the excitement, head over to the Foróige building to rest in the Quiet Area.  Don’t forget our workshops happening in the Linenhall at 10am and 12pm!
