The Music Generation Mayo Harp Ensemble will be joining The Shamrock Choir and their Award-Winning music director Sarah Hart for a free concert on June 11th, in Christ Church, Castlebar. There will be a collection after the concert to benefit the cancer fund for children.

Sarah Hart is from Nashville and has been a singer, songwriter and music producer for over 25 years. Her love of ministering through the medium of music has taken her all over the world. She has been nominated for a Grammy and her songs have been recorded by numerous recording artists and have appeared in TV, film and advertisements.

The Music Generation Mayo Harp Ensemble gives opportunities for young harpers from throughout the county to play and work together. The Harp Ensemble operates under the musical direction of Gráinne Hambly and William Jackson, acclaimed musicians and composers with many years of experience performing worldwide. The ensemble has performed on RTÉ, at Mayo International Choral Festival, Westport Mac Luí Children’s Arts Festival, Achill International Harp Festival, Tionól for Harps and Pipes, St Patrick’s Festival 2022 in Dublin and most recently at Music Generation Mayo’s #youngmusiciansofmayo concert in the Royal Theatre Castlebar. They are currently preparing to attend the World Harp Congress 2022 in Cardiff, Wales.

All funds collected after the concert will go to support the cancer fund for children and their mission to construct of Daisy Lodge in Cong Co. Mayo. Daisy Lodge provides short breaks for families of children living with a cancer diagnosis. The cancer fund for children runs a Daisy Lodge located in County Down which caters to the island of Ireland. With the construction of a Daisy Lodge in Co. Mayo the cancer fund for children will double the number of families it can provide short therapeutic breaks to.
